SCAC Codes

What is a SCAC code? The Standard Carrier Alpha Code™ (SCAC®) is a code assigned to the transportation company, used to identify them on shipping documents.

They range from two to four letters and are assigned by nmfta.org

SCAC Codes can be used to identify freight carriers in computerized systems and electronic records of US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), as well as physical records of shipping documents such as Bill of Lading, Freight Bill, Packing List, and Purchase Order.
